Today is International Day of Forests, which promotes, educates and raises awareness of the integral role forests play in our survival on Earth and the current issues of deforestation. Forests protect biodiversity, absorb harmful greenhouse gases to mitigate climate change and act as a natural buffer against natural disasters such as landslides and floods. In short, we need forests to survive.
We believe it is the responsibility of every business to play an active role in aiding our planet, raising awareness and changing things within their own model to reduce their impact on the earth. So we have been thinking about how we can continue to take an active role in making positive moves for our planet. In honour of International Day of Forests, we have become a Treedom friend and planted 15 trees across 5 countries. Supporting this cause not only aids CO2 absorption, reforestation and biodiversity but also directly finances local farmers and offers training and income opportunities.
And this is just the beginning! We will continue to play our part, continue to plant trees and continue to make and keep our business sustainable.
